48 INDIE / ROCK guestlist.net Issue 80 / 2015 Well-loved back in their native France, AaRON have announced themselves on the world stage with their single 'Blouson Noir', taken from their thrid album We Cut The Night. As well as winning over music lovers, they've also found a fan in legendary actor John Malkovich, who opens the video for the track. With 'Blouson Noir', AaRON have become a daring act, unafraid to set themselves apart with irresistible melody, haunting vocals and wholly addictive subject matter. Artist Of the MOnth AArOn The Paris-based duo are getting well- deserved international attention Novo Amor has followed up his acclaimed 2014 debut EP Woodgate NY with beautifully melancholic new single 'Anchor' - a haunting acoustic meditation perfectly designed to soundtrack the fading summer and the oncoming autumn. Over the past year alone, Lacey has grabbed the attention of NME, Indie Shuffle, Hillydilly, NPR, Dezeen Mag, Earmilk, The Line Of Best Fit, Digital Spy and more. His version of the Guns 'N' Roses classic 'Welcome To The Jungle' - recorded especially for the 2015 'AXE/Lynx Black' advertising campaign - has reached over 1 million plays on Spotify, and the latest Expedia advert uses Lacey's song 'From Gold'. Novo Amor's music shares the restless romanticism of US troubadours such as Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens - but Lacey's soulfulness and sincerity are uniquely his own. The autumnal drift of 'Anchor' is a fine demonstration of his art; as well as building on the precocious accomplishment of his earlier work, it illustrates the rapid evolution of his songcraft, poised perfectly between the ethereal and the earthy. Aside from his songwriting, Lacey is also adept in the field of sound design and often incorporates this into his production by using unconventional recording techniques and 'found' objects as instruments, none of which detracts from the songwriting skill at the music's core. "We're coming home!" This is the tweet that has got all Alt-J fans buzzing. The band are coming back to perform in the UK after playing around the world tour. Still promoting their second album This Is All Yours, the trio are ready to rock the country's arenas, supported by The Horrors. Following widespread critical acclaim they have spent most of 2015 touring, and will round out the year with some more big shows. Being part of an Alt-J concert is just an opportunity you can not afford to miss!
