T
here is an old saying
in racing, "If you want
to win, get a Finn".
Finnish drivers are
known for their car
control abilities and
fast, smooth racing styles. Rally
racing is huge in Finland, and
those drivers are known for
having some of the best car
control of any type of racer, as
the modern gravel (dirt) special
stage was born in Finland
and Sweden in the 1950's.
For SCORE Trophy Truck
drivers looking to improve their
car control and low traction
skills, few places are better
than the Ice & Action driving
school on the frozen lakes of
Ivalo, Finland. Ivalo is about 200
miles inside the Arctic Circle
and just a 32-mile drive from
the Russian border. The school
is run by Trophy Truck driver
and former WRC (World Rally
Championship) driver Armin
Schwarz.
