38 Issue 81 / 2015 DNB guestlist.net Stepping onto the scene back in 2014 after a few releases on CYN Music, he caught the attention of MTA Records. Wasting no time in signing him up, they have reaped the rewards since. Immediately mastering production for both radio and clubs, it was Dimension's 'Whip Slap', dropped in March, that gained the producer loads of support. After dropping in on a few UKF line-ups for their autumn tour, Dimension is ready for his next release, 'Dark Lights / Panzer'. Once again demonstrating his ability to crossover from mainstream to the underground, it promises that'll he finish the year on top. Artist of the Month DiMension Dimension has had a massive year, and it looks like it's gonna get better More @ guestlist.net/dnb Inner City Life Goldie feat. Diane Char- lemagne Here's the DnB on our playlist this month: PLAYList The voice of drum & bass, Diane Charlemagne sadly passed away She leaves behind a legacy like no other after she featured on so many classic drum & bass records from Goldie's Timeless to High Contrast's 'If We Ever'. Her soulful voice added a class of elegance to any record it graced and was constantly called upon from producers across the UK. She had been fighting cancer in recent times and was regularly updating her fans on Twitter, but this battle was lost on October 23rd. Long time friend Goldie announced the news on Twitter saying "So she went into the early morning... God rest her soul #diane what a gifted voice". Following the news many artists have expressed their condolences including Friction, High Contrast, Die and Kasra. Diane first rose to fame as the voice from the Urban Cookie Collective, where together they had two UK top ten singles. Shortly after she began providing vocals to other producers, especially in the drum & bass scene where she made quite an impact. In her time she worked with some of the best in their field, from the early days of jungle breaks to the modern days of liquid and jump up - her voice remained a constant in the genre for so many years. This issue we dedicate our drum & bass playlist to her and the records she honoured with her voice. Samplers are there to build excitement for an upcoming album and this one from the soon-to-be- released Timeline certainly ticked that box. Artificial Intelligence have worked their magic and with the help from DRS have produced, prehaps, the best drum & bass record this year. The murky bass hangs around like the autumn mist, with a raw drum pattern switched up every few bars with that energy filling amen break. Dark and moody tones are placed back- to-back with acoustic sounds, including a cheeky triple bass creating a well produced, inspiring record that features all the right elements for a club banger.
