The life of Robert Nesta Marley has been documented and will be distributed by Magnolia Pictures on April 20th in the USA (UK dates are still to be confirmed). Marley, directed by Scottish di- rector Kevin Macdonald, has al- ready been shown at the Berlin International Film Festival. It is also due for screeing at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas from the 8th of March for a week. Rare footage, photos, interviews from his friends, family and band mates and performances of the legend himself have been used to portray his life in what critics have been describing as "the definitive biography." Bob Marley was without a doubt one of the greatest artists ever blessing his fan base with a timeless message of peace, love and unity. This is the first feature that has been backed by the fam- ily of Bob and so it is certainly one to watch! Although he died at age 36, "Bob Marley is a fascinating, tower- ing figure in musical history, and Marley is the biography that he deserves," says the Magno- lia president, Eamonn Bowles. This wonderfully crafted film is what Ziggy Marley, Bob's son, described as "the ultimate rev- elation" of his father's life.
