Dated between 1800 and 1820, this fire screen uses mahogany, glass, and an intricate wallpaper printed with an oceanside scene to create a classic New England feel. This 1805 side chair is one of many early-19th-century pieces found in the Gardner-Pingree house in Salem. The Gardner-Pingree House's distinctive carvings of fruit, vegetables, and bunches of wheat represent prosperity.
