SCHEDULE Pat Mikesch put his patriotism where his wallet is by donating $100 for each goal his Green Bay Gamblers scored during its annual Military Night on Nov. 14. The USHL team also received support from local businesses and individuals in the Green Bay area who matched Mikesch's contributions with all the money raised going to the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. The Gamblers sweetened the pot by auctioning off special edition jerseys and helmets worn during their USHL game against the Bloomington Thunder. This marked the fourth year that the Gamblers have hosted a Military Night. The community comes out to show its support with more than 5,000 fans coming through the turnstiles at Resch Arena. This year's event exceeded last year's campaign that raised $20,000 to purchase a vehicle to drive local veterans to medical appointments at a nearby VA Clinic. Gamblers Score For Veterans "In this business you have to show up and perform every day, and that's where my mindset is. I don't think anyone is guaranteed anything, so for me, I'm just going to try and go out and keep playing hard." —Carolina Hurricanes rookie defenseman Noah Hanifin on making the transition to the NHL THEY SAID IT
