Class 7 relies on whatever sponsors they can get for parts and to help take the edge off of big expense items, share technical knowledge, and help improve a race team that is backed by great equipment. "BFG is awesome. The pitting, the people, and of course the best tires," Chamlee said. "Brett and King's four-inch shocks, along with his tuning expertise are probably the biggest factor in going fast. We have amazing lights from Rigid Industries, and we also get help from Slime, MSD, Optima, Autometer, Sunoco, McKenzies, and Fiberwerz help keep the costs down." With such a variety of vehicles and engine combinations to choose from, it makes watching Class 7 racing an exciting part of the SCORE Desert Racing experience. But for those that want a real experience, a Class 7 truck can be a great way to get a feel for what it's like. "Off- road racing isn't just a sport. It's a life style. It's a passion," said Sohren. "You have to have drive, courage, and determination to succeed. So my advice would be to never give up, and if you're gonna talk smack, get ready to back it up!" SJ.
