Sport Resource Group Chosen as Rink Supplier for St. Paul Wells Fargo WinterSkate , Sport Resource Group is proud to be announced as the supplier of the portable dasher boards being used for the 2015-16 Wells Fargo WinterSkate Rink, located at Landmark Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Wells Fargo WinterSkate officially opened to the public for skating on November 21 and will remain open until February 7. This year, Sport Resource Group sup- plied a 120'×60' portable PorWall-ICE Rink System with 20' radius corners, two player- access gates and a 12' equipment gate. SRG staff collaborated with the City of Saint Paul Public Works Department to complete the installation on November 12. The entire rink system was constructed in only 45 minutes. "The Wells Fargo WinterSkate rink turned to ProWall systems for help when an unexpected issue arose with a previous contractor. Chris and his team saved the day and have been outstanding to work with," said Renee Mattson of the Visit Saint Paul Foundation. Wells Fargo WinterSkate is an artificially-chilled ice skating rink in the heart of downtown Saint Paul. RINK RANGERS by Mike Curti If you would like to measure your ice thickness, but are afraid to because you have a sand floor, use a bug sprayer with hot water in it and melt a small hole in the ice until you see white paint or sand come up through the hole. Then insert the end of a caliper into the hole to see how thick the ice is at that location. The hole that is created by the bug sprayer will be small enough that it will re-freeze quickly and won't be noticeable. (Thanks to Jacksonville Ice for this tip!)
