How's this for one:¤7News recentlyhon- ored Our Lady of Loretto parishioner Monica Mogen as a local hero for her role in organizing the Giving Wreath. Mogen started the Giving Wreath in 2001 as a way to share Christmas joy with those who are less fortunate, and what started as a small project benefitting 50 families has grown to benefit over 800 families each year. It's a wonderful event that exemplifies the true reason for the season and puts smiles on many a children's faces. Mogen is step- ping down as the organizer for the Giving Wreath, but rest assured, her legacy will live on in the years to come as the Giving Wreath continues to grow and spread even more joy. Way to go, Monica! BenetˆHill Monastery celebrates 50th Jubilee The¤Benedictine Sisters at the Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs are celebrating a momen- tous occasion this year. June 14 last year marked the 50th anniversary of the monastery's founding in 1965, and to honor the occasion, the sisters are doing what any tightly-knit group of women celebrating their longevity would do: party for an entire year. The sisters have served in many locations around Colorado, including Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Denver, and they'll be celebrating with each of these commu- nities throughout the year, including at Christ the King Parish in Denver on Jan. 17. The Benedictine Sisters are well-known for being quiet, reverent types, but don't let their prayerful demeanor fool you; after all, it's common knowledge that religious sisters throw the best parties. Congrats, Benet Hill sisters, and here's to 50 more years! PHOTO PROVIDED Communications o‰ce work-study student named employee of the month Though he's only here once a week, Arrupe High School senior Jason Kibozi is definitely one of us here in the communications oce. He works every Tuesday, helping us catalog old photos and organize the archives, and he always does what he's asked with a big smile. He does such a great job, in fact, that the Arrupe work-study program named Jason their employee of the month for November. Jason would like to study engineering or public relations after he graduates from high school, and we'd say he's oª to a great start.
