To the aunties, I discovered, washing women was much like washing a car and required a similar style with plenty of elbow grease thrown in. I was scrubbed by an auntie known as "Jessica" with a fi rm, no nonsense approach. No sooner than I was on the table, she fl attened me out and began to scrub. These women don't mess around. The sweet-looking aunties will wrangle you on a table and get to work everywhere and I mean every…where. There were no formalities nor introductions of any sort. I did not look at the other women on the neighboring massage tables and they did not look at me. It was like a club that I was being initiated into and I was doing my best to learn the rules.
