It seems that through all the drama K Michelle has come out triumphant K Michelle has had one hell of a career even though she has only released 3 albums since her abtly titled debut Rebellious Soul in 2013, and her new effort holds no punches with explosive R&B tracks that hit on all levels. Never far from controversy, it appears that she is well adjusted to the industry and all the pitfalls that come with it and the result is a deeply personal piece of work. With lyrics on the lead single "How'd I believe that this time would be different" we already get a sense of where the album is going. It is however a more varied sonically as the album touches on many styles of music and not solely R&B unlike her last albums. We get the feeling that K Michelle is in a great space right now and is ready to enter the world once again as one of the true R&B queens of this generation. NEW RELEASES This 18-years-old, white rapper is ahead of the game 2 Chainz has us jumping with his new banger 'Bounce' Swedish Yung Lean is polarising hip hop fans – whilst purists insist he's nothing more than a fad, the newest generation of the scene is taking him rather more seriously. Lean's debut album Unknown Memory exploded into international rap circles in 2014, courting terms like 'internet rap'. Whilst Lean's aesthetic is certainly 'internet rap', teaming arty, tumblr imagery with a kind of surrealist sense of humour, his beats boast a deeper, more historical array of influences. Tracks like 'Solarflare' demonstrate a solid command over forward-leaning electronic music production, taking cues from trap and downtempo. Breakout single 'Kyoto' is top-40 fodder, embodying what Lean does best – dizzy, oriental melodies and hazy walls of sound. His latest album Warlord was out last month. You can catch him at Sonar and other festivals this summer. 2 Chainz has collabed with Lil Wayne and we're pretty damn hyped about it. The new track 'Bounce' is a full on assault filled with straight bars left and right, and a simple hook that the clubs are going to love. With a little help from Lil Wayne, it's definitely more of a collaboration than a feature, as both rappers trade off one another throughout the entire track in the style of a rap battle. The end of the track smashes it with 2 Chainz spitting bars from 'Watch Out' and Lil Wayne delivering a verse from 'A Milli'. ONE TO WATCH: YUNG LEAN TRACK OF THE MONTH: 2 CHAINZ FT.
