of bending in high-wind conditions. At the base of each anodized aluminum leg is a wide, steel footpad. According to ASC VP Craig Tucker, the larger footpads allow SCORE to drive heavy-duty stakes to secure it under heavy wind conditions. The ASC canopy is easy for SCORE staff to assemble and disassemble with a one-piece thumb latch. "All of our canopies come with an easy-release thumb latch, which is a one- piece unit that is not anything like the old push-pin latching systems that you see within the market today," said Tucker. The thumb latch is easy to use and reduces the chance of pinching or having the system fail so you can't lock the leg in place. The cover is just as durable as the frame. Its manufactured from 6000 Denier Polyester that features a UV protective coating on the outside of the fabric, with a urethane coating on the underside. "The urethane coating on the underside of the canopy, helps with water resistance," says Tucker. "This allows SCORE to hose off all dust and dirt collected during a race, wait for the canopy to dry, and pack it away for the next event." The table covers are also made from the same material, allowing for great logo placement on an easy clean surface. The canopy has additional LARGE STEEL BASE PLATES ALLOW FOR HEAVY-DUTY STAKES TO BE DRIVEN INTO THEM, WITHOUT FEAR OF BREAKING OR CRACKING. THE CANOPY IS A 10X20- INCH UNIT BUILT WITH AN ALUMINIUM FRAME RUGGED ENOUGH TO SURVIVE BAJA. TWO-INCH DIAMETER HEXAGONAL LEGS ARE STRONGER THAN SQUARE UNITS, PREVENTING BENDING UNDER STRONG WINDS. 061 SCORE JOURNAL
