SCORE Journal - You
had a great race at the 2016
SCORE San Felipe 250. What
were your feelings when
you won the UTV class?
Burnett - Yes, finally! I felt
relieved! All our hard work
and dedication had finally paid
off. After a devastating 2015
trying to get our car dialed in,
this win was exactly what my
team and I needed to get back
in the game. As you might
recall I had a tragic string of
events that started last August.
I broke my ankle while doing
an FMX show in Washington.
Then a few weeks later I was
getting ready to race when
both my $100K race car, and
my pre-runner burned down
to the ground the same day.
Right after the accidents with
my cars, I ended up in the
hospital with a staph infection.
I was hospitalized for two-
weeks. After breaking my ankle
in August I've been hospitalized
three times, dealt with three
staph infections and a pick-
line going from my right arm
right into my heart. It's been a
brutal recovery and I'm still not
well so to win the SCORE San
MARC BURNETT RACES
ACROSS THE SAN
FELIPE DESERT FOR
HIS FIRST VICTORY OF
THE 2016 SEASON
Felipe 250 this past February
was a great achievement for
me and my team. It set the
precedence for the rest of
the year. We look forward
to the rest of the season.
