MARK KARIYA he and Kargola won the SCORE San Felipe 250 in 2010. By then, Udall was a legitimate threat to win anytime. He and Kargola won the SCORE San Felipe race again in 2011, the year Udall clinched his first SCORE Class 22 championship. It was a feat he repeated in both 2012 and 2013. While he lost his JCR Honda ride as well as the championship in 2014 to the Monster Energy/ THR Motorsports/Precision Concepts Kawasaki team of Ricky Brabec, Udall came roaring back with a slightly renamed, revamped and re-energized team, sweeping all five rounds in the 2015 SCORE World Desert Championship. UDALL BACK ON TOP After topping the 30th SCORE San Felipe 250 in February, Udall is in position for a fifth title, but he also knows that the three remaining races within SCORE are up for grabs. Nothing to date, however, beats the feeling he said he had during that first win in San Felipe back in 2010. "We were the underdogs. Caselli was down there, Kendall [Norman] was there. We weren't even really considered [contenders]; 'Ox' and I were kind of the secondary or 'B' team, you could say. We just held a steady pace and treated San Felipe with respect. That was the year I got a grip on how to race [in] Mexico. Some people would say it's cheating, but I say it's just learning how to go fastest through the desert and using the smartest lines. It all turned out to work out for the best for 'Ox' and me because we won, and it was my first win. It was so exciting because we earned every bit of it, and AFTER THE JCR HONDA TEAM DROPPED OUT OF SCORE AT THE END OF 2013, UDALL HASTILY FORMED HIS OWN WFOX MOTORSPORTS HONDA EFFORT FOR 2014 BUT WAS UNABLE TO HOLD ONTO THE 1X PLATE, THOUGH NOT FOR LACK OF EFFORT. BUT THEY LEARNED A LOT, ESPECIALLY IN THE AREA OF ATTRACTING SPONSORS, AND ENJOYED A MORE SUCCESSFUL 2015 AND REGAINED THE #1 PLATE! 052 SCORE JOURNAL
