GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: DJ AGRO 46 ISSUE 87 / 2016 BCee's label is back in Shoreditch - July 8. This Brighton based DJ is one of drum & bass' freshest talents "He's been featured on the chart topping Justice League compilation and heads Sub-Liminal Recordings. Ladies and gentleman we present, DJ Agro! He catapulted himself onto the scene with his debut 'Noise Complaint' in 2015. Since he's linked with big names including, Ray Keith, Serum & Hizzleguy producing an onslaught of killer tunes. He's already rocked huge events from Breaking Science to NEXT HYPE with his effortless ability to get the crowd jumpiing, this hasn't gone un-noticed. Drum & bass heavyweights are sitting up and paying attention to his sick style and imprint - it's time you did to!" After selling out their last show in March they're returning to Village Underground for another night of liquid magic. Spearhead's events have been building in momentum, regularly selling out some of London's best venues like Plan B, Lightbox and Electric Brixton. They'll be representing the smooth liquid style that they do so well, though as previous shows have taught us they'll be sure to have a couple of tricks up their sleeves! So far the label head BCee is heading up the proceedings who'll be joined by a true powerhouse in drum & bass, Total Science." ALBUM OF THE MONTH: MADUK - NEVER GIVE UP Maduk spices things up with his colourful liquid style. This Dutchman rose to prominence through his YouTube channel, Liquicity. The brand has now grown into a fully fledged label - becoming a vital source of emerging talent and hosting events everywhere. He grabbed the award for 'Best Newcomer Producer' at the Drum&BassArena Awards in 2014 and the following year got the 'Best Newcomer DJ' award. No surprises then that he got signed up with the big dawgs, Hospital. He's not even been at the label for a year and already he's released an album with them. His well awaited debut, Never Give Up is a stunning showcase of his uplifting and melodic style. He adds a little colour to an otherwise dark, technical drum & bass scene with his quirky take on liquid. It's a lively 12 tracks bursting with positive vibes with tonnes of sweet vocals, turning beats into songs. He heads an ever growing force of smooth bass music that stands in stark contrast to the deep dark and mechnical styles that are dominating the scene right now. His fun-loving attitude that shines through his music sets him apart from the rest, making his music more than just your average club banger. The album makes you realise just why he is one of the most exciting names in drum & bass right now. He built an army of dedicated liquid fans through Liquicity in his early days and ever since has failed to disappoint them.
