Damon Albarn lost his computer
with a lots of records for the new
album...
The Blur Frontman have his habits, like taking the
London Black Cabs everyday. This time, just after
had released 2 more records for the Gorillaz new
album annouced few months ago, he let one of his
friends order their taxi.
Sadly, it was not the famous retro company which
was called. The friend had choosen a more modern
company, and that's how Damon Albarn never saw
his computer anymore, He had reported that it
would never happen with the Black Cabs because
he used to always forget something on the cars and
get it back.
Not saying that the modern companies have to be
reconciderate because we all love it, but you should
be more careful the next time you'll pick one...
NEWS: NEW GORILLAZ
ALBUM STILL LOST IN
NATURE
ALBUM OF THE MONTH: AYE!
We love the new Grawl!x video for 'Kumquat', which has only just been released in
anticipation of his next album, out May 28.
The album, Aye!, is the last of a trilogy
which explores the five stages of
grief according to the Kubler-Ross
model. Aye! Explores the final stage,
acceptance.
Judging by Kumquat, the first release
from the album, the rest of the
record will be appropriately deep and
emotive, with gorgeous layers of guitar
arrangements and skittering drums.
'Kumquat' is an excellent piece of psych-
pop, demonstrating Grawl!x's ability
to stand against giants like Animal
Collective and Toro Y Moi.
Grawl!x will be touring in June.
TRACK OF THE MONTH:
LAND LOVERS -
SPRINGTIME FOR THE
MYSTICS
Dubliners Land Lovers bring their
third LP and its shaping up to be
big
Land Lovers are a Dublin band making guitar music
with leftfield, alt rock influences like New Order and
Future Islands. Their new album, The Rooks Have
Returned, is out May 16 on Popical Island, a label
founded by members of Land Lovers. Our indie track
of the week is the lead single from The Rooks Have
Returned, 'Springtime for the Mystics', which builds
on what the band have done in the past, sounding
like Pulp in the 00s or northern, melancholic indie.
