Ska legends Madness are hosting their own festival this summer Taking place on Clapham Common on August 29th, over twenty artists will join the band for a unique Bank Holiday musical experience. Grammy Award winning reggae band Toots & The Maytals will be performing tracks from over 20 of their studio albums on what will be an exclusive London performance. The Jamaican stars will be joined by David Rodigan MBE, Norman Jay MBE from Good Times Sound System, Mike Skinner & Murkage present Tonga, Ms. Dynamite, Congo Natty & UK All Stars, Kiko Bun, and Lee 'Scratch' Perry. Get ready for The Legends of Reggae Festival 2016 which is set to hit Birmingham on the 28th and the O2 Academy Brixton on the 29th of May. The second annual reggae festival will feature a spectacular line-up from all over the world, including; Freddie McGregor, Junior Reid, Marcia Griffiths AKA, "The Queen of Reggae" who has been one of the longest running and most consistent female reggae artists in the world, I Octane who is renowned for positive and socially conscious messages in his music and many, many more. EVENT PREVIEW : THE LEGENDS OF REGGAE ARTIST OF THE MONTH: STYLO G'S MAKING MOVES Our pick for this issue's reggae artist of the month is the British, Jamaica born, Stylo G. Coming from a musical background, he's the son of the late Poison Chang as well as brother to producer and engineer Kodi Starr (Crazy Cousins). Stylo G moved to South London from Jamaica when he was 14 and release his first significant song, "My Yout", featuring Sickman and Ice Kid which boosted his reputation significantly. "Call Mi a Leader" and "Soundbwoy" also boosted his track record, with Soundbwoy peaking at number 18 on the UK Singles Chart and featuring on Clean Bandit's hit song, "Come Over." Stylo G infuses different UK born genres into his reggae tracks including Grime and Dubstep, to make an unlikely, but great mix. Continuing to make moves in the industry with his fusion of Jamaican and UK, he came out with "Call Me a Yardie" back in 2011.
