40 DRUM N BASS / DUBSTEP www.guestlist.net GENESIS @ Hidden 23rd June Issue 40 / 2012 GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS MIND TALK Watch out for 20 year-old Chris Buddle from West Sussex, as this talented and sanguine Drum and Bass producer is about to blow up! Genesis DnB have been holding nights in West London for the past 2 years. Now at their new home in Vauxhall at the unique Hidden nightclub, some of the best drum & bass producers and DJs in the country come together for a party not to be missed. With a contrasting mix of some of the most experienced DJs in the scene combined with many up and coming breakthrough artists, over 20 DJs and MCs will be taking over 2 rooms on June 23rd. Bringing over 20 years of experience, dBridge headlines room 1 alongside Metalheadz and 31 Records legend Doc Scott. With decades of releases and huge recognition throughout the drum n bass scene, it is unsurprising that early bird tickets are already gone for this one. Some of the freshest artists at the forefront of the scene, such as Xtrah, Amoss, Fathom Audio and many more provide support for a night of forward- thinking drum n bass, perfect for any discerning d&b head. INNOVATION BANK HOLIDAY BASS OFF @ PROUD 2 Although his music achieved fairly good internet success, he is still unsigned. I suspect big labels will be fighting for him pretty soon, since his style of psychedelic liquid funk is remarkable to say the least. Most of his tracks are forged the classic way with a beat and a vocal sample, but in their simplicity lies their enthrallment. They are perfect tunes for the iPod, car player or decks of any liquid dnb lover. Mindtalk's EP, Reflections, is free to download online, and it's how we found out about him at TGN. Google it, get it, and check out this young optimistic artist. His last track, "There's time for us" leads me to believe that he's experimenting with lo-fi trip-hop and downtempo influences at the moment, but still, gems like "Free Will" and "Vincere" remain well in the realm of drum'n'bass - straight, clean and neat. Listen and see if I'm right or not - this kid's music is definitely worth it. Be sure to hit up at least one of these dates to see one of the most groundbreaking drum & bass artists of recent times tear it up this summer.
