NEWS: DRUM&BASSARENA ARE HEADING TO THE SOCIAL FOR A 20-YEARS-OF PARTY Living up to their promises, Back to the Jungle fix up this jungle banger. The Social and Drum&BassArena have teamed up and are bringing one of the biggest drum & bass line ups this festival season. The Social festival are moving to their new home, The Kent County Showground. From the 9th - 11th they've sorted some of the biggest house and techno names for another roadblock festival. This year the guys have got Drum&BassArena on board and together they're bringing one of the biggest drum & bass festival line ups this year. Taking over the Bamboo Village on the Sunday, Drum&BassArena have secured only drum & bass royalty to show The Social how it goes. Leading the way is Roni Size & Krust. Joining them are heavyweights, LTJ Bukem, DJ Zinc, Goldie, High Contrast and Icicle. All killer, no filler - that's how Drum&BassArena roll at The Social - firmly stamping their mark on the festival. Drum&BassArena's stage nicely ties in with their 20th anniversary making this a super special day for one of the biggest drum & bass institutions. It's one drum & bass line up you don't wanna miss. Murder Most Foul supplies the goods this time, and it's top notch junglism. The A side, '12 Bit Technique' opens with some serious funk, borderline cheese, before slamming down an endless clash of amens and beefy bass punches. The moment it drops the energy levels sky rocket, the bumpy basslines and mind screwing drums shake you to the core. Before getting too much Murder Most Foul chills it down letting the track simmer and adding a tonne of wicked samples. On the flip side, 'Sights and Sounds' is in the same vain - making this an essential jungle release this summer. TRACK OF THE MONTH: MURDER MOST FOUL - 12 BIT TECHNIQUE ARTIST OF THE MONTH: T>I He's a leading light in drum & bass all because of his distinctive style. His productions wrap all things drum & bass giving truth to his full name, Total Integration. His sound has firm roots in the genres history whilst continually looking outward. After seasoning himself into the sounds of jungle drum & bass at raves, T>I wanted to move off the dancefloor and up onto the decks. Once up there he trained himself up as a producer. In 2012 he was signed up to Marky's Innerground where he developed his sound, absorbing as many flavours and styles he could. After a series of hefty beats on Marky's and appearances on other big labels T>I had established his sound and built a solid reputation. 40 ISSUE 89 / 2016 DRUM & BASS PLAYLIST Here's the drum and bass on our playlist this month: Freedom Fighters (feat.
