BLACKOUT LDN DJ Seth Troxler has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation Profits from 'Mein Kampf' sales to go to Holocaust Sur- vivors Prisoners get second chance at educatioin. Most of you may know Seth Troxler as a world renowned DJ and producer but now he has tak- en a month off to raise money for charity by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Troxler teamed up with the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation in Aus- tralia, for this climb. He's grouped with neuro- surgeon Professor Charlie Teo, who has a cam- paign called Million$Mission and along with 9 other amazing entrepreneurs, their aim was to raise a huge amount of 1 million AUD$ (each having their own personal target of $100,000). Seth and the crew climbed on 15th July. Seth Troxler had this to say, "If each of the my fans donated 25p, I could reach my goal and if each donated £1, we could raise 4x over, that would go towards saving lives." You heard what he said! 67 colleges and universities are taking part in the Second Chance Pell programme in prisons in the US. This is for eligble Americans to get back on the right track and have the education they need for the outside, The evidence is clear that the programme help prisoners move on and gainthe education they may have not got. Money from sales of 'Mein Kampf' in the US will be donated to Holocaust Survivors, says US publisher. After the publisher got criticism after the money wasn't going towards a good cause, Boston based publisher Houghton Miff- lin Harcourt, decided to donate the money to Boston"s Jewish Family & Children"s Services who support the charity's Schechter Holocaust Services program. LONDON'S ON FIYAH! Blackout LDN, who are part of the black lives matter movement, are hosting an event down here at the Guestlist HQ and they are committed to celebrating young black talent here in the UK. The heatwave in UK continues as there were highs of 33 degrees and whilst travelling around on the buses and tubes, you can tell how some commuters who were dressed head to toe in a suit, were really hating life. so make sure if the weather continues to be like this, drink plenty of water and enjoy as much sun as you fucking can! because we might have just had our summer in 2 days... It is open for anyone who wants to spread good vibes and love and appreciate the vibrant and young black communities around them. They are sick and tired of young people constantly being portrayed in the media as gang members, drug dealers and thugs. This event is the place to celebrate all of the creative, innovative, inspirational, entrepreneurial, entertaining and motivational black youth of today. During the event, there will be two awesome young speakers: 18 year old Hayley Mulinda Elizabeth, who works hard to help other young people move forward towards their dreams and goals in life. Recently, she won the 'Black Enterprise MOGUL Most Inspirational and Most Influential Black Entrepreneur in the UK' award for U21's. She's also been recognised for her fantastic work by BBC Apprentice finalist, Bianca Miller and the amazing award winning poet, Suli Breaks. The other is Temi Mwale, a 20 year old award winning campaigner and CEO and founder of The 4Front Project. This is a an organisation led by the youth with a mission to try and reduce and understand serious youth violence. This was set up by her at the tender age of just 16 and it came about sadly after the murder of her childhood friend. She is now in her final year at the London School of Economics doing an undergraduate Law degree. She has happily balanced her studies with her campaigning and activism. She was heavily involved with the Justice For Mark Duggan Campaign and she has now been named a Director or Remarkable Start CIC, which is to improve the lives of young people in Tottenham, all in memory of Mark Duggan. The event is going to be hosted by the wonderful Speech Debelle, who has previously won a Mercury Music Prize and music will be DJ'd by Man Like P from Radar Radio. It is honestly an event you do NOT want to miss! GOOD NEWS 4 ISSUE 89 / 2016 NEWS London's On Fiyah! LONDON NEWS Come down with your people and let your voice be heard.
