www.travelweekly-asia.com | 23 WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY? Eating sauteed potatoes that my grandmother prepared for me. They were her specialty, and I remember the taste to be so good – crunchy and crispy in the middle, moist and tender in the centre. It's a simple dish – just potatoes, (lots of) butter, and salt, and I now make them myself. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE WAY TO RELAX? Sleeping, listening to music, playing tennis, playing golf, spending time with family and friends – in no particular order. WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? Staying almost nine years in the same property, Grand Nikko Bali, and having had the opportunity to improve it and make it a market leader. IF YOU STOPPED WORK TOMORROW, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? Sing. A couple of months ago, my son joked that I should sing, and could become famous, so I would do that, just to try and (hopefully) prove him right. The two songs in my repertoire would be "Comme d'habitude" and "Jealous Guy". DESCRIBE YOUR MOST MEMORABLE HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE. Spending a week with a friend of my father's who was a professional fisherman in the South of France. We went out to sea everyday, cast our nets and got a fresh catch of often-beautiful lobsters! WHICH LIVING PERSON INSPIRES YOU, AND WHY? My close family because they are real people, dealing with real challenges. WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER YOUR GREATEST INDULGENCE? Champagne. Just hours after I was born, I already had my first sip of champagne, which was given to me on a spoon by my godmother. Really, it's a great drink in any occasion – too bad it is relatively expensive… IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO UNDO A MISTAKE IN YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? I have no regret whatsoever. If something happened, it happened for a reason. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE INSCRIBED ON YOUR TOMBSTONE? Thinking about you.
