FIRE RIPS THROUGH STUDIO 338 Ending Panhandling the right way Pokémon Go saves an ice cream store #IllRideWithYou Most cities will arrest beggers and panhandlers on the street. Though in Albuquerque, New Mexico they've decided to instead give them jobs. So far the program, called 'There's a Bet- ter Way' has given out 932 jobs which has seen 69,601 pounds of litter and weeds cleared from the cities streets. After a shooting in New York City, locals are doing all they can to help make their Muslim neighbours feel safe. By using the hashtag #IllRideWithYou, New Yorkers are offering to walk Muslims to and from their Mosques in a show of solidarity and respect. The shooting on 13th August saw a 55 year old imam and his 64 year old associate killed. In the US a struggling ice cream store has been saved by the popular smart phone app, Pokémon Go. The Mad Hatters ice cream store is located close to 3 poke-stops which has sent people flocking to the area to get the treats. It couldn't have come at a better time as the store was close to closing - now it's takings are dou- ble and sometimes triple what they use to be. DANCE MUSIC CALLS ON SADIQ KAHN The much loved Studio 338 has been left gutted by fire. Once again the Farringdon club is under an immense amount pressure after two 18 year olds have died in the venue during the past 9 weeks. The Met requested that Fabric's license be suspending and owners have agreed to not appeal the decision. Islington Council are to review the venue's license within 28 days, therefore will remain close for this time. Being one of the only super clubs left in London, the support that has come through for the club has been huge. DJs have been calling on Sadiq Kahn as one of his promises was to protect London's nightlife - we're all waiting. The fire took hold just before midday today and affected the club and other buildings near by including a recycling yard and industrial units with one man being rescued. 100 fire fighters and 15 engines were called to the Tunnel Avenue area at the Greenwich peninsula to tackle the blaze after thick black smoke plumes were seen across London. Cranes were deployed in order to douse the fire and TfL closed Millennium Way and Brood Street due to concerns around drifting smoke on the carriageways. The rear of Studio 338 has been left badly damaged after flames ripped though the venue. It's a huge hit to the Ibiza styled London club which only recently re-opened after it's massive refurbishment. It was a hot spot for globally renowned house and techno talents. The much loved terrace venue was a mainstay for London events with promoters including Cocoon, Elrow and Art Of Dark regularly hosting nights. Any tickets holders for upcoming events at the venue will be informed on the next steps following the blaze, but there are no details as yet. Watch Studio 338 in all it's glory below. Massive respect to guys over at the club, we wish Studio 338 a speedy recovery! Much love.
