GUESTLIST 2016 / ISSUE 90 9 If you have a task that you really want to accomplish but it seems daunting, try chipping away at it a little bit at a time. What you will find is, over a month if every day you clean one or two things in that cupboard you never use cos it's full of junk will soon be clear and ready for a new use! There are so many things you can apply this to! It's not easy being efficient and staying on top of things. Life catches us off guard and the unexpected is always lurking behind a corner. You can either let that get to you and make yourself believe that you're "just not one of those organised people" or you can plan your days in a way that actually allows time for unexpected pop ups. Tomorrow, wake up 15 minutes earlier than usual and scribble down the most important tasks for the day in order of priority and allocate the time you'll spend on them. Note down the other less important bits and give them a time frame too. Then write down all the extra things that you don't have to do, but want to do. Allow yourself an hour or two to work on those. Lastly, allocate an "unexpected" slot for little bits that might pop up in your day that would usually eat away at your time. If you allow 15 or 20 minutes a day to deal with obstacles, you'll no longer see your time as wasted, but as organised. It takes a lot of self assurance, confidence and self worth to ask for something that you want and/or know that you deserve. Sure, it can be daunting but can you imagine how good you would feel afterwards? The key to asking for the things you want is to genuinely believe that you should have them. If you think you deserve a raise because you've been smashing it at work and going above and beyond, ask for it because you know you're worth that and more, of course go all out before you ask so you have ammo. If you feel like you're giving more into your relationship than you're getting, ask for the changes you want to see. You want more ketchup with your McNuggets? You better ask because these McDonalds workers act like those tubs come out of their pay-check. Ask for the things you know you deserve and notice the difference in your life. More @guestlist.net Whilst the charity deals with every manner of cases involving drug or alcohol consumption, its raison d'etre is psychedelic support – providing responsible sitters for people having bad trips or other psychological crises. Kosmicare is primarily this – a tribe formed on the principles of community and ancient wisdom there to handle the life-changing states caused by psychedelics with due respect, which is not afforded by traditional welfare or medical services, nor indeed by the law or the world at large. The charity works with welfare and medical services at festivals to provide a holistic approach to drug related difficulties. Whereas the medical service tackles physical symptoms, Kosmicare specialises in psychological difficulties, which are often worsened by doctors and security. The charity also provides a vital relief for strained medical tents, caring for the huge array of individuals made vulnerable by the consumption of drugs or alcohol who don't require medical services. The 24 hour service has food, hot and cold drinks, warm spaces to sleep and private spaces for counselling and various forms of therapy, as well as a less quiet tent for more active people. At Secret Garden Party this year, Kosmicare was accompanied by the Loop, the UK's first ever drug testing service at a festival, making this year's SGP a pioneering event in harm reduction and even drug policy in the UK. Let's hold onto this positive momentum with force and spread the word about the tribe. Catch Kosmicare at Illusive and Equinox festivals this year –they will be providing a safe space for kosmic kittens. Kosmicare are holding Goa Cream festival, from 23-25 September to raise funds for the charity. The festival, held in Malvern, has a growing lineup of big names in Goa trance. More @guestlist.net If you've been around the small, independent festival circuit in Europe, there's a chance you've heard of Kosmicare, the charity dedicated to welfare for those undergoing difficult drug related experiences. The travelling charity started at Booom festival in Portugal, the festival perhaps most suited to its purpose. DO A LITTLE EACH DAY AND SEE HOW MUCH YOU ACHIEVE IT'S EASY TO ORGANISE YOUR TIME, TRY IT!
