12 ISSUE 91 / 2016 FASHION Anniesa Hasibuan defied conventions, bringing a very unique collection to the event. The Indonesian fashion designer made history at the annual fashion week in New York this year. Inspired by her hometown, Jakarta she flooded the cat walk with a colourful display of looks. While she was there, Anniesa wrote some history. Not only was she the first ever Indonesian to show at the iconic event - she was also the first designer to feature a collection where every look featured a hijab. After her show, the designer received a standing ovation and has further boosted the modest fashion style that's booming across the globe. HISTORY WAS MADE AT THIS YEARS NEW YORK FASHION WEEK
