NEWS: BREAKAGE LAUNCHES NEW RESIDENCY; INDEX Russian trio collide with some of the biggest. One of London's finest, Breakage kicked off a new residency. He'll be holding down the South London venue Phonox bi monthly on Thursdays. His new session is a great boost to out cities bass music clubbing calendar. As a producer, Breakage has always been at the top of his game. He's constantly adapted to the ever changing scene whilst maintaining his own distinct sound. Whether you first heard him through his slick jungle clashers or his sub shaking dubstep you know that Breakage is one heavy producer. Given his talents in the studio, it's hard not to see this translating into his event. And as the first line up proved, with Alix Perez, Skeptical and more billed - Breakage is definitely going to be repping the best in forward thinking bass music. The next event will be in October. As part of their Killer Squad EP, the Russian drum & bass power trio teamed up with Icicle and sorted a badass tune. 'Louder', which also features DJ Craze goes down a half time route before flipping itself over into a fast paced drum & bass smasher. It has a cluttered feel to it despite being very tight. The clear cut and intelligent sound designing really propels this track a head of the rest and when you see the other collabs include Audio, Gridlok and June Miller you know it's huge. TRACK OF THE MONTH: TEDDY KILLERZ & ICICLE - LOUDER (FEAT. DJ CRAZE) ARTIST OF THE MONTH: NEED FOR MIRRORS The London based producer is smashing it this year. What makes a good producer is their consistency, and that is something that Need For Mirrors has undoubted proved since he first emerged into the scene. So far in 2016 the Soul In Motion resident DJ has landed serious fire on Horizons, Celsius, Liquid V & Full Cycle; all leading labels for his down and dirty style. His stripped back rollers ride easily over any style, the perfect cuts for turning up the party and adding raw flavours. If you like you rolling riddims, beefy bassline and progressive melodies then Need For Mirrors is your guy - smashes it all the time, every time.
