GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: SERIAL KILLAZ 44 ISSUE 91 / 2016 Jungle Splash are back for another road block party. For over a decade this duo have been at the forefront of reggae influenced jungle drum & bass. Their sound that seems to get old. Injecting a hefty dosh of reggae to the jungle sound - it's a combination that's had their peers going wild. This has shown over the years with Congo Natty, Playaz, Philly Blunt and Urban Takeover all repping their sound. On top of their production skills they also run a label of the same name. It's been on fire this year with huge material from Sikka, Leaf and most recently DJ Hybrid. When it comes to the jungle revolution there's only one name that should be on your lips. On October 15th they're returning to Brixton Jamm and throwing another huge Jungle X Garage party. Up on the bill this time is a special live P.A set from Demolition Man. He'll be joined by Brockie, Kenny Ken, Potential Badboy, Uncle Dugs and more in the jungle room. Over in the garage room you'll find Junior Buzz, Smokey Bubblin B, No Faking DJs and more all representing the very best in UK garage and bass. Jungle Splash's parties have been going off, and with another big line up their next event looks set to be no different! ALBUM OF THE MONTH: MACHINECODE - MECHTROPOLIS Some big, nasty, stinkin bass. The Mechtroplis album is the latest sounds from Current Value and Dean Rodell's collaborative project. The pair have constructed a rough 16 tracked trip across all things heavy and dark. It goes in hard from the outset and rarely takes it's foot off the accelerator. To be honest we shouldn't expect any less from these two, especially as the album is out on the European machine Eatbrain. Intense, multi-layed sound engineering and atomic drops are pulled off each and every time. Does it get boring? Does it fuck! It may be a techy, neurofunk rampage, but it's one that's filled with creativity and a lust to create something new - as Eatbrain worded it 'birthing the dawn of the machine age, and giving the freedom these basic organisms required, releasing them from the torment of the human condition'. The duo's Mechtroplis is a heavy piece of work, definitely one for the neurofunk heads. Once again Eatbrain - smashed it!
