ISSUE 93 / 20016 21 FESTIVALS It's been a bit of a turbulent year and if you're feeling the strain, maybe now is the time to visit the happiest country in the world. Envisions Festival returns to Costa Rica, the happiest and greenest country on the planet, this coming February. Envisions is a hub of art and spirituality with yoga, music, educational activities and a focus on sustainability to help party goers connect with nature, the planet and its inhabitants. Headlining acts include a rare performance by bassy Opiuo with Chicago live dance music trio Autograf. The soulful sisters of Rising Appalachia are taking over the Sol Stage with their unique voices and empowering lyrics. Canadian deep house duo Blond:ish will provide some house and techno business and Berlin underground legend Acid Pauli, renowned for his ultra-eclectic marathon sets also joins the bill. Yoga, art and education are at the centre of Envisions and the inspiring line up of yoga instructors, educators, art installations and creatives create the festival and cement the space as a place various cultures to coexist in a sustainable community. More at Guestlist.net Rise is back in 2016 for their third year takeover of Les 2 Alpes. 2016 promises more of everything that makes this party on top of the world so great witha good few new surprises thrown in along the way. This year's event, held 10th to 17th December, is set to be a week long celebration with artists spanning multiple genres. The line up is packed with heavy artists with one of the world's favourites, Seth Troxler, one of the forefathers of grime, Kano, UKG legend, Artful Dodger, Channel One, MC Dynamite, disco supremo Hunee, Jackmaster and Midland all set to play. And that's just for starters! With a selection of other activities to get involved in too, Rise isn't just about the music. Take a trek up the mountain and cook in the wild; join in their annual R Games for a little friendly snow bound competition or enjoy a spot of yoga with a mountain view or rave yoga with an energising soundtrack with glowsticks and U.V. paint galore! One of the most talked about acitivites, are this year's adventure parties. Held in a log cabin, tucked away on the side of the mountain, these adventures promise to be once in a lifetime events!
