NEWS: CAMO & KROOKED TEAM UP RAM & BMG FOR THEIR UPCOMING ALBUM Tyke's a leading player in modern jump up dnb. For years now the Austrian duo, Camo & Krooked have been at the forefront of contemporary drum & bass. Their next album will be sure to keep up that trend. They've made their mark through a combination of mind blowing productions, their imprint Mainframe and their many performances across the world. Their constant ability to adapt and evolve in this ever changing scene has kept them as staple figures, now once again the duo are ready to take themselves to new highs with their new album. Coming in 2017, Mosaik will be there fourth studio album - coming to us through a unique partnership between Ram, BMG and the pairs new label, Mosaik Musik. The album, three years in the making, sees Camo & Krooked fusing all their influences and ambitions together, creating a truly special record. Speaking about the upcoming album, Camo & Krooked said: 'The goal is to make music that has enough energy for the dancefloor but is musically advanced to be listened to at home.' Mosaik is due for release in May 2017, though we got a taste of what's to come with 'If I Could / Ember' dropping earlier this month. Both go down the pair's minimal, melodic route while taking progressive steps forward. Over the years he's dropped straight up fire, all validating his position as one of the scenes most progressive. His latest work, Dream Catcher EP, dropped recently and sums his style up to a tee. Taking influence from all over the place it's an 8 tracked EP full of good vibes, stinking basslines and that cheeky edge he pulls off so well. 'Blessed' really stands out for us. Tyke rinses out a wobbly bassline with a simple, but effective drum pattern. Daddy Earl drops in with some sick vocals. It's just a record that's fun and positive, something that is all too often lost in this game. TRACK OF THE MONTH: TYKE - BLESSED (FEAT. DADDY EARL) ARTIST OF THE MONTH: MITEKISS Smooth liquid bliss from Croydon. South Londoner, Mitekiss has been making big moves in the past couple of years. When he's not busy his Goldfat Records, he's been producing magic for Skank & Bass, MTA Records and most recently, SGN:LTD. Mitekiss has established himself as one of liquid's best newcomers. Each track is perfectly constructed, making sure all the right elements are thrown in. It may be early days yet, but when the Chase & Status, UKF & Friction are fans then it's fair to say things can only get better. 40 ISSUE 93 / 2016 DRUM & BASS PLAYLIST Here's the drum and bass on our playlist this month: Dead Sea Mohican Sun Betamax Break & Total Science Groan A Sides Hoez To The Floor Rockwell
