46 ISSUE 93 / 2016 INDIE Bittersweet, the lead single from S.O.S' debut EP 'Edges of The Mind', features Debattista. The 1975 have announced their first ever UK arena tour. All written and produced by Sophie, master engineer credits include "Shane the Cutter" who has worked with the likes of Nathan Fake, Luke Abbott, Blu Mar Ten and DJ Shadow amongst others whilst career highlights so far include performances supporting US superstar Ciara and the London Music Awards at The Roundhouse, Camden. Sophie explains the song's backstory, Bittersweet is about a man who has dedicated so much of his life to his job, professional status and wealth that his personal life has suffered as a consequence. He believes that the only way that he can get some love and feel some emotion is by paying for it. He becomes infatuated by this girl that he arranges to see on a regular basis, even though he keeps promising himself that each time will be the last. He knows that her time is limited and when they're done he is left feeling alone and empty inside. He longs to be back in her presence and finds himself continually falling back into temptation.". Their previously-announced show at The O2, London, on December 16 sold out within hours, so the band have scheduled another six arena shows including a second date at the O2 and dates in Manchester, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Glasgow and Cardiff and beyond Europe This is gonna be a world tour for a fresh indie-pop band with some classic sounds! The peculiarity of this tour will be an ever-changing set list including some unreleased music from years ago! This will give the opportunity for fans to listen to their favorite songs. The 1975 released their second album I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it in February and saw it debut at number one in both the US and UK. Their debut album The 1975 also reached number one in the UK in 2013. GUESTLIST RECOMMANDS: S.O.S SHARE ALLURING NEW SINGLE "BITTERSWEET" EVENT REVIEW: THE 1975 HIT THE ROAD ARTIST OF THE MONTH: DESERT MOUNTAIN TRIBE WANT YOU TO 'TAKE A RIDE' London-based psych-rock trio Desert Mountain Tribe are back with new single 'Take A Ride', set for release on 9th December. 'Take A Ride' is the third single from their recently released debut album Either That Or The Moon, which was nominated for Drowned In Sound's coveted Neptune Music Prize, cementing Desert Mountain Tribe as a band to watch. The trio - Jonty Balls on guitar and vocals, German brothers Felix and Philipp Jahn, on drums and bass respectively - have been compared to the likes of Kasabian and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club thanks to driving sound. The re-recording of 'Take A Ride' takes the track to new heights, with the tight drum beat and marching bass riff providing the perfect backdrop to Balls' guitar and lyrics. The band have recently notched up memorable live performances on their hugely successful European tour; including sell-out shows in London and Rotterdam and stand-out performances at Rockaway Beach and Hackney Wonderland Festival. Desert Mountain Tribe will play a series of dates across the UK before the end of the year, including a headline show at Electrowerkz on November 18th.
