Thomas, More cords.com HIDDEN IBIZA info: www.toolroomre- Producer, DJ and YouTube debater pushes dance music to the limits of its definition. James Holden has made a name for himself as a producer, DJ, label head and the source of many extremely nerdy genre debates on YouTube. He debuted as a nineteen -year-old back in 1999 with his trance banger "Horizons", and has since pushed the boundaries of electronica further than most, with his astonishing debut, and so far only, full-length album, 2006's "The Idiots Are Winning". Lauded by critics who described it as the finest electronica debut since the first Boards of Canada release, Holden's unique style seems almost wasted on dance floors. Certainly his work is a fine example of dance music which is just as comfortable on a home stereo as any other genre of music; tracks like "Lump" and "10101" require a close listen to appreciate what they're all about. Holden is also known as a first-class remixer for the likes of Radiohead and Depeche Mode, and runs the Border Community label which houses musicians like Nathan Fake and Kate Wax. While his work stretches "dance" music to the limits of its definition, he regularly packs clubs on Border Community nights. TOUR SCHEDULE : CROOKERS Where would dance music be without Crookers?
