Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson has been funding a campaign which aims to give the public a second referendum on the controversial Brexit debate. In a memo seen by The Independent, former Labour politician Alan Milburn claims that the group had made 'substantial progress' after months of campaigning, and that an 'excellent potential CEO' had been identified to lead the group. The memo further reveals that the group was receiving strong levels of financial, political and corporate backing. Supporters of the new group are hoping that public opinion towards Brexit would change if the economy suffers or if negotiations between the UK and EU stall. It is not thought that MP Chuka Ummuna supports a second referendum as he recently founded the organisation 'Vote Leave Watch' aimed at holding leave campaigners responsible for promises they made during the campaign. Recent polls and social media suggest that a number of leave voters would vote to remain if there was a second referendum, suggesting that leave voters now number around 49% of the population. This is owing to changes since the referendum, such as the election of Donald Trump. A spokesman for Richard Branson's Virgin company said 'Since the EU referendum, Virgin has not made any payments to any Brexit campaign or organisation. It is well known that Richard supported the Remain campaign before the referendum, and as a result people involved in all sides of the debate are interested in Virgin's views on Brexit and its impact on business. Virgin is interested in engaging with different organisations to understand the impact Brexit will have on the UK.' GUESTLIST 2016 / ISSUE 94 11 GUESTLIST ARE YOU ON BOARD? The air and water is warmed to skin temperature and the room is dark and silent, affecting an out of body experience meant to promote creativity, relaxation and mental and physical healing. It's a lovely, organic, natural form of therapy but at about £50 per hour, we wonder if home baths and Epsom salts work as well :) Floatworks Vauxhall is London's top floation centre.
