Last month, Theo Parrish released a new EP, Gentrified Love Pt. 1. It's perfect proof that the house originator still has the right beats at his fingertips. The EP features 'A Ghetto Proposal' with John Douglas and Kitten Kuroi, along with the instrumental, featuring Amp Fiddler. Out now on Sound Signature, the record is the second in his Gentrified Love series, the prequel to Gentrified Love Pt. 2, which was released the month before with no reference or allusion to the future or past release of a prequel. Raised in Chicago, Parrish grew up to house music, and ended up joining Detroit supergroup 3 Chairs with Moodymann. A classic house and techno DJ, whose expansive sets inspired a generation, his oldest records are just as unmissable and listenable as his newest. Viral Vitas has more tricks up his sleeve than making weird noises Percolate is hitting both London and Manchester for NYE-NYD ONE TO WATCH: VITAS Rounding another solid year of parties, Percolate is throwing three special events to help see in 2017 - two in London across New Year's Eve and New Year's Day as well as a New Year's Day special in Manchester. The next day the party will carry on with Breakfast Club at Pickle Factory. Heading up this one is Jane Fitz, the Night Moves and Freerotation resident revered for her peerless sets. He's joined by Mall Grab, with Krywald & Farrer, Joy Social and Sam & Toby rounding off proceedings. You may well be familiar with the viral video featuring Russian pop star Vitas performing his hit '7th Element'. It will make you happy. Vitas is known as the 'chum drum bedrum' guy (listen to the lyrics) or the 'weird Russian singer' to most of us in the western world but he's actually making serious waves. Already a Russian superstar, he has released 16 albums and is also a fashion designer. It's time to give this guy more respect than a passing giggle.
