Where are you now and what are you doing? I have just returned from playing at Polaris Festival in Switzerland. My set was before Richie Hawtin, who I managed to catch up with as its been a while We had an amazing crowd up in the mountains, now im back home with my family awaiting my next adventure. You have just had a release on Cadenza after a 13 year hiatus, can you tell us more about that? As you probably know I co- founded Cadenza with Luciano and it was a great adventure, as well as one of our biggest successes in music - with "Orange Mistake". We were good friends, and also our families were close. Then we both went our separate ways and we were busy for so many years. We met up again a few years ago, we have a lot of good memories and we have a good time together. So we decided, why not work together again? For the moment we haven't had found the time to get in the studio, but when I made "Solitaire" I knew that Cadenza was the right place for it and Luciano was also very happy to have me back home. So look out for more stuff! What other solo releases have you got planned? My latesr release was a remix for Roland Leesker on Get Physical, It came out a few weeks back in November . After that I will be working on my EP to be released on Get Physical, on top of a few more plans for collaborations with other artists… sorry can't tell you more for the moment Your Azimute project with Cesare vs Disorder has been pretty busy this year, what have you guys been up to? We started the year full on with a tour of Asia that was crazy and fantastic; we went all over the place from Gilli Island off Bali to Beijing and Australia. Sydney is one of our favorite places, we always get such an incredible welcome, great following and super friendly promoters. We love it! The summer was also busy with gigs mostly in Europe, a few in Ibiza where we now have a residency with Sankeys for next year, for their Unusual Suspects Party. And we ended the summer with the incredible Sonus Festival, playing with the Martinez Brothers. It was just a great crowd and so much fun being together with so many of our mates. On the music side, we feel so privileged to have our Paradox EP released on Transmat Records. It means so much to be associated with this historic imprint, and we have only love and respect for Derrick May. We have also released an EP on Moodmusic and on Flying Circus -I will actually be playing at their party in Amsterdam's ADE festival next week (21 October). And finally, the Azimute Green EP on our own label (to be released this winter). We are also very excited about a new musical project that we have been working on together, we spent a week in the studio in Geneva with a group of musicians… we'll tell you more later. What do you usually start with when preparing for a set? Every place is so different, I'm inspired by where I will play and by the crowd. I'm very responsive to the feeling and the energy I get from people. What currently inspires you when producing? Depending on my mood that day. Name of thing you would change in the scene if you could ego looking forward to NYD 2017 in New York with Cesare as Azimute. We will be playing for Blackmarket Membership alongside Ame and Taimur & Fahad. ISSUE 94 / 20016 Quenum is one of Techno finest and he is back with a full array of new music...
