Alt R&B singer Basheba drops her latest EP Axiom Pt. 2 Sylo Nozra is the new voice changing R&B Coco teams up with Shola Ama and fellow Sheffield spitter Deep Green for 'Waters Run Deep'. Sylo Nozra is beginning to emerge from the internet into renown. Hailing from Toronto, the singer and producer makes slow, chilled R&B with a futuristic, alternative flavour that recalls London's Alunageorge or Mura Masa. Indie influences his sound in the form of deep, warm electric guitar licks over soft percussion and electronic bleeps. The overall sound is slick, polished sunset soul. At 21, Sylo Nozra was waiting tables whilst bedroom producing R&B. Since then, he's produced two EPs which showcase a strong voice in future R&B. You can listen to them on his Soundcloud. His latest EP, this_era, was released last month and refines his sound into luscious downtempo with rich, husky vocals. Premiered on DJ Target's 1Xtra show, 'Waters Run Deep' shows a different side to Coco. The warmer sound, with Shola Ama on the opening hook and the rougher bars from Coco and Deep Green proves that the Sheffield MC isn't afraid to experiement with sounds and styles. His catalogue of music over the last 18 months is testament to this. From the hefty grime remix of 'Big N Serious' with MOBO nominees AJ Tracey and Nadia Rose, through to his recent collab with Protoje, Coco has taken a fearless approach to releasing music in 2016. Kendrick Lamar NEW RELEASES Known for combining break beat and jungle rhythms in previous work, Axiom Pt. 2 and tracks from it continue to show a progression in sound for the young Londoner. Her heartfelt lyrics and soulful vocals have always been her greatest strength and now she's drawn in influences from trip hop and bass. The EP's late-night vibes comes courtesy of hotly tipped producers XVR BLK, Jay Jay Musika and Ogre & Runone. It's a powerful second instalment of the Axiom EP she dropped back in April of this year.
