GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: ADMIRAL TIBET The Reggae Roast crew head to South London to see in the new year The Admiral is back with another big album. Admiral Tibet, Tibett, Mr. Reality - whatever you call him the Jamaican dancehall singer has released his latest album project I'm Determined. One of the first artists to focus on 'conscious' lyrics, Admiral Tibet has been rocking sound systems since he was a teenager and has produced an extensive back catalogue going as far back as 1985. The Jamaican singer returns this year for another master class in original conscious roots music. The album is nine laid back riddims with serious commentary on the way our world works. His uplifting vocals sit comfortable over the slow rhythmic beats making for some serious vibes. This year Reggae Roast in back down south for NYE, taking over The Fox & Firkin in Lewisham, and they've got a whole load of friends from across the reggae spectrum joining the party. MC Brother Culture, Donovan Kingjay, Dark Angel and Colourman are all on hosting duties, with the likes of Ray Keith, Jahtari, Earl Gateshead, JSTAR, Adam Prescott, Vibration Lab and Rockers From South all on the line-up. Running all the way through til 5am, expect some special guests to pass through too. EVENT PREVIEW: REGGAE ROAST NYE 2016 ARTIST OF THE MONTH: CHRONIXX Chronixx will drop debut album early 2017. The Jamaican artist's Chronology album will be arriving early next year as he embarks on a debut tour of North America. Along with the announcement, Chronixx shared a new video too as he gears up for a huge 2017. The video added visual delights to his track 'Majesty' that first surfaced as part of a mix tape earlier this year. The track is one of cuts from the upcoming album. The new album will arrive in early 2017 just before Chronixx and his band, Zincfence Redemption head out for a 38 date tour taking them across the USA and Canada. Recently he's been stirring things up with a healthy line of music coming out and big shows across the globe including Coachella and Lovebox. The artist looks prime to hit 2017 hard, and given the success he had this year it looks to be huge. 52 ISSUE 94 / 2016 REGGAE PLAYLIST Beri Version African Head Charge One Heart (Sherwood Absolut dub mix) Ali.
