• We inspire individuals to advance their careers in the ice rink industry. • We provide vendors a direct conduit to present their products and services to consumers. • By offering various forums, we bring the industry together to foster professional and personal relationships in a supportive community. • We promote the sharing of knowledge within the industry by collaborating with organizations and associations whose goals and activities complement ours. • We must ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the organization. At the North American Rink Conference and Expo (NARCE) in 2016 we asked our members to help select our new logo. In a landslide win, the logo below was selected and approved by our board. The star in the logo is a carryover from our current logos (STAR, NARCE, RINK, CIT/CRA/CIRM). While still recognizable by our members and others within the ice industry, it also maintains a connection to our history, including the company tagline that is an homage to our previous name. The rectangular outline around the text is intended to represent dasher boards around an ice rink. The light gray swoosh behind the blue text is intended to represent the first lap of an ice resurfacer around the ice. The red, white and blue, while obviously tied to the United States flag also has ties to both U.S. Figure Skating and USA Hockey. 18 / JANUARY.FEBRUARY.2017 USICERINKS.COM "OUR GOAL, AS WE MOVE INTO THE FUTURE, IS TO REACH A GREATER NUMBER OF FACILITIES IN THIS COUNTRY AND THE PROFESSIONALS THEY EMPLOY.
