Becker Arena Products to Distribute Electronic Ice Depth Measuring Tool The new PrecIce IceTec IT8 electronic ice depth-measuring tool will be distributed by Becker Arena Products. The patent pending tool enables rink managers to precisely measure and record ice depth and port the information through the IceTec IT8 software program to a desktop or laptop computer. The software also allows the operator to give direction to the ice technician, record the corrective action taken and also enables comparison readings to previous measurements. All ice depth readings are archived by rink location, by date, and can be used to track ice depth through the season. The IceTec IT8 uses ultrasonic technology to measure ice depth. It works on both concrete and sand base rinks and measures ice depth to 4-inch+ with an accuracy to 1/20th of an inch. An entire rink can be measured for ice depth in less than the time it takes to take two or three measurements using a drill and clipboard to record them. Visit beckerarena.com. DDI Signs contributes to Kettler Capital Iceplex Beautification and Rebranding Project Virginia-based DDI Signs, a leader in providing innovative and original signage solutions to the rink industry, was contracted to help the Washington Capitals complete the beautification and rebranding of their new practice rink and corporate offices in Arlington, Virginia. The largest part of the project was completed in time for the unveiling of the Capitals' new logo. "Prepping and installation of the large window graphic took our two-man crew two days to complete," said Keith Newsome, owner of DDI Signs. The 27 x 54-foot window graphic was digitally printed on a new vinyl product that is designed specifically for use on exterior glass windows. The graphics were hand die-cut for this custom installation. For more information, log on to ddisigns.com.
