June FOMA Conference F or the 5th time, STAR and its Alliance partner, the Ontario Recreation Facilities Association (O.R.F.A.), will provide an educational program for NHL Facility Operators. The NHL's Facility Operations Managers Association (FOMA) will meet in from June 11-15 in St. Louis; it is expected that approximately 60 operators from around the NHL will be in attendance. "STAR/O.R.F.A. has been a great partner and resource for FOMA," said FOMA President Fred Corsi (Scottrade Center/St. Louis Blues). "Our membership has benefited from the STAR/O.R.F.A. educational programs and we look forward to working together for a great event in St. Louis." 2008 Regional Training Programs In 2008, STAR will provide training programs to ice rink professionals at regional locations. STAR's regional training events feature the three technical training courses required to earn the Certified Ice Technician (C.I.T.) designation, which is recognized by the National Hockey League. The C.I.T. designation was created by STAR's Alliance partner, the Ontario Recreation Facilities Association (O.R.F.A.), and is exclusively offered in the U.S. through STAR. The STAR/O.R.F.A. Alliance remains the educational choice of the NHL's Facility Operators Group. For a registration brochure, contact STAR (info@starrinks.com) or visit www.STARrinks.com.
