Joe Goddard's debut album Electric Lines has just been released and it's a dance album that pays homage to the great funk records of the past. As one of the founding members of electro-pop band Hot Chip, Joe is no stranger to insanely catchy electro music however, what he is a stranger to is solo albums, but listening to Electric lines you'll hope he releases a lot more. Thirteen tracks long, the single 'Home' is the standout banger but inside the album the tracks are layered superbly and all offer the listener something incredibly different. The different genres that are prevalent throughout the record will make for an interesting live act. The tracks all hammer home their themes in a unique way. You won't be just humming the tracks all day, you'll be singing your ass off! The track 'Lasers' is a great example of this. Using synths as its foundation the track is house music in its purest form. Joe Goddard has almost used this album to celebrate all of his favorite elements of electronic music and forged them all into one album. Despite the different themes on all the tracks they all share the same funk and groove fusion. Which makes the record truly high spirited, it's impossible not to feel optimistic when listening to this album. Innervisions latest Secret Weapons compilation (the ninth edition so far), sees a standout lead track on the A1 from upcoming Belgian duo Raw District. Ahead of their upcoming season in Ibiza, Glitterbox have another London party in store at Ministry of Sound. GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: RAW DISTRICT On July 1st they return to the legendary London superclub with a solid line up that boasts Jellybean Bentiez & Ralphi Rosario along with resident DJs The Shapeshifters, Simon Dunmore and a special live set from Crystal Waters. Once again the carefully crafted line up will give clubbers a sick blend of house and disco from some of the finest selectors going. Glitterbox's parties are always a good shout, with a serious focus on quality disco, house music and vibes that encapsulate the original hedonistic spirit of clubbing. No surprises then that their last season in Ibiza got thousands of you through the doors of Space across their 17 week stint. Expect more of the same this summer as they prepare to smash 16 weeks at Hï Ibiza. For those of us not lucky enough to get to the White Isle this season, this London show will give you the chance to get involved with the action without making the trip! The producers began their Raw District project in 2013 in order to explore a deeper, darker side of dance music, whilst drawing inspiration from organic sounds and feature fewer samples. 'From The Inside' is the perfect example of this ethos; the atmospheric track is driven by a hefty low-end underpinning whispering vocals and exotic percussion. As DJs, Raw District have performed together at established clubs and festivals such as Extrema Outdoor, DGTL, Dour Festival, Fuse Club and their residency at the highly respected Labyrinth Club, Belgium. We're expecting more big things from the duo as their tour schedule picks up and they gain more attention from big name DJs and labels. Just remember you heard it here first!
