GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: SLUGWIFE 40 ISSUE 99 / 2017 Returning to The Bridge, the Exit Records camp have another quality party lined up for June 2nd. If you like your beats filthy, glitchy and with more than a generous portion of bass, then you might be in need of Slugwife. Nah, we're not saying that you go out and wed yourself to a slug - Slugwife is a new label that sticks two fingers up at genre titles and gives it's artists free reign to create whatever the fuck they want. So far the results have been disgusting to say the least. They're one EP deep and shit, have they made a bang with it! The tracks coming from Kursa & Seppa are chunky AF and will surely turn the clubs upside down. The producers throw in twisted and wobbly sounds before finishing with glitchy beats and ground shaking bass. It's a big debut from the Slugwife who are already working on new hits! Once again Exit will be showcasing their innovative style with some of their best artists. For their second session, they've sorted two mental back to back sessions, both lasting a serious 4 hours. dBridge will be tearing it up with Loxy while Jubei will be going head to head with Mark System. Those are two mad combinations that'll definitely set the club alight, while fully representing the Exit sound and ethos. Another big party from these guys, this one's an essential date in any d&b fan's diary. ALBUM OF THE MONTH: 15 YEARS OF CRITICAL Critical's 15 year album has nearly landed and perfectly captures the labels spirit and ethos. It's already been a huge year for Kasra's imprint, Critical Music. This was to be expected as 2017 marks the label's 15th year of existence, and what 15 years they have been. After working tirelessly Kasra has created a label that's been described by Goldie as "a gatekeeper to what is under the surface in drum & bass". Remaining constantly at the forefront of any new sound or style in the grimey underworld of drum & bass, Critical Music through its label and events keeps pushing things forward. Some things are just meant to be, and Critical's label has reached its 100th release. Combining the two milestones together, they present a mammoth compilation that encapsulates everything we love about Critical. The imprint's core acts and close friends all provided the records for this impressive release that's centered on showing you where they are at and the direction they're heading. Kasra explains:"I wanted the LP to be about where the label is now and where it's going, a snapshot of the music that represents the Critical sound by core label acts and some choice friends." The album drops on May 26th! EVENT PREVIEW: EXIT RECORDS' APTITUDE IS BACK WITH A MAD PARTY DRUM & BASS Man A Badman Refugee Buss It Up Kumarachi Tribe of Nothing EP Jem One Brighter Days (feat.
