Honoured legends The Who and Guns N'Roses are set to walk on stage together as the loved rock veterans that have lead the way for years, embark on a joint tour. This coming September, those lucky enough to reside in South America, or fans willing to splurge enough to jet off and witness rock history, will be witnessing two of the worlds hugest rock icons co- headline at least two sets, with rumours of more on the way. Rio De Janerio and Argentina are set to be hit first, with the sets commencing this coming September 23rd at the Rock in Rio Festival, followed on October 1st at Estadio Único De La Plata in Buenos Aires. Guns N'Roses are maintaining their current shows around Europe, including two shows in London this coming June! NEWS: ROCK LEGENDS GUNSNROSES & THE WHO TO TOUR TOGETHER! ALBUM OF THE MONTH: SPOONS The Spoons recent edition, Hot Thoughts is a collection of real toe-tappers, which on occasion turn into an all out boogie-inducing dance session. Each song crackles with originality. The title track and first single 'Hot Thoughts' is a multi-dimensional track that grips you in with one listen. While 'Do I Have to Talk You Into It' feels like a 70's rock rendition of a James Bond theme song which had been shot into space and back. If you can't get your head around that sentence, you'll manage to once you've listened to the song. However one of the best tracks is 'Pink Up' which sounds like a deeply psychedelic journey that slides you into involuntary deep thought, regardless of what mood you're in. Another notable thing is the way the band ties the album off with a touch of class. An ambient jazz instrumental that could've been in Cowboy Bebop's soundtrack. TRACK OF THE MONTH: PROWLES Although it's early days, Prowles are heading in what seems to be the right direction with their latest track 'High Breed'. Their debut single exercises a greater portion of rock nostalgia, implanted with ear-pricking homespun, jagged grunge.'High Breed' bleeds the passion and exhaust of a relationship no matter its kind, stretching those most challenging and bewildering moments. The casual existence of the band's assembly came around as the group had an awakening and a shared, explicit attraction to music before the group just clicked. As yet another fresh band out of Manchester sows their seeds into the underground scene, Prowles are set to force their way through as the fierce talent that they already appear to be. The lads are also set to tour around the UK in May, June & August.
