28 HOUSE / TECHNO www.guestlist.net The Guestlist Sound System @No5 Cavendish Square THE OTHER SIDE ARTIST OF THE MONTH Issue 42 / 2012 We showed everyone how it's done with the launch of our massive house night, The Guestlist Sound System on Friday 24th August. The latest protégé's to come out of the massive Bristol dance and electronic music scene have landed firmly on their feet. Joining up with Brake Horse Re- cords we headed west bringing along some big name players in the deep house scene. We got our smartest glad rags on and hit No5 Cavendish Square, a truly impressive venue with a dramatic yet elegant interior that takes the usual house night to a whole new level. There were great expectations for the launch of Guestlist Sound System, and thanks to our special mix of musi- cal geniuses, we smashed it. Matt Evo from Passion FM started off the night providing unstoppa- ble crisp, deep house. JAYCE then took over and carried on with the irresistible groove and the party ended with Joe Le Groove from Brake Horse Records putting the cherry on top of the unforget- table night. The spritely crowd danced from floor to floor in their highly polished shoes in full ap- preciation of the magic the DJ's were making on the decks. A truly proud night for The Guestlist Network and we expect all of you devoted house heads to join us at the next one! With support from the likes of Annie Mac and Rob Da Bank. Having already teamed up with the well-established Kidnap Kid and fellow Bristolian Eats Everything for a double A-side release on the increasingly-popular Black Butter Records Label, showcasing the band's unique take on house. Their latest single 'Skirts' due for release on the 30th of September, has a definite summery vibe about it, with the video encapsulating images of 'the best festival you've never been to'. With the upbeat and catchy synth tune, the unique vocals and catchy lyrics, 'Skirts' could definitely SEPTEMBER RELEASES ALRIGHT Mark Knight (TOOLROOM RECORDS) ORDINARY THINGS Aytekin Kurt, Duran Genc (FREEZE DRIED RECORDS) ULTRAVIOLET Denny (HOT CREATIONS) SUNRISE Nasta, Bald Bros (T.H.T MUSIC RECORDS) PLEASE ME Paul Oakenfold, Poncho, Maxi Trusso (PERFECTO RECORDS) ONLY IF FOREVER Rosenhaft (TWO HOUSE RECORDINGS) be a summer soundtrack, or definitely a perfect soundtrack to remember a wicked summer as we head for the dooms and glooms of winter. With several remixes, spanning from Ibiza, The Other Tribe are certainly getting their name out on the circuit, with performances at many of the big- gest British Festivals this summer, including Bes- tival and Secret Garden Party, it would seem that these guys are destined for big things.
