36 6 DRUM N BASS / DUBSTEP www.guestlist.net MASTERMIND CLASS IN DRUM & BASS AND DUBSTEP Issue 43 / 2012 GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS PIXEL FIST Mastermind Records is set to take off with their sister label Masterdub's new release 'Mastermindz of Dubstep Vol 1'. Collaborating with producers such as, Kromestar, Chef and Blusey, We are loving the first track by Kromestar, 'Bad Mind.' The dirty sub-bass break down with the tranquil lyric performed by MC Crazy D is enough to get any true dub fan gagging for more. The teaser that has been released on soundcloud has us waiting eagerly, but not patiently, for the rest to be made available on the 9th of September in both Digital and Vinyl downloads. But that's not all Mastermind has on offer for us this month. Following the success of their first single entitled 'Believe', the drum & bass sensation Dexcell teams up with Mastermind re- cords for the new EP, 'Face The Music' with anticipated release date also to be 9th September on both Digital and Vinyl down- loads. For those of us who may- be are unsure of what to expect from these guys, the album will contain all the deep basslines and hard drum sequences we have come to expect from drum & bass but with an extra level of Reggae incorporation, hip hop influences and some moments using spacy synths to create their own unique sound. For those of us already estab- lished Dexcell fans, get ready for them to push the boundaries even further than you imagined they would. ALBUM OF THE MONTH CASPA PRESENTS DUBSTEP SESSIONS 2012 This month, Guestlist Recommends Pixel Fist, four-piece production collective from London who make nothing but tunes. The group consists of Audio, Mackie, Lorne and Stapleton MC. These boys dropped a massive two song EP last summer featuring the tracks 'Seduction' and 'Tweaky' on Breakbeat Kaos. Both songs got massive love both in DJ sets and radio play. This summer has seen them throw out tracks such as the club smash hit 'Let Yourself Go', which was formally introduced to the airwaves by none other then Skream on Radio 1 when he sat in for Annie Mac in January this year, as well as the absolutely epic tune they dubbed worthy of titling 'Skatta'. Stay in tune with this group as they continue to smash it throughout the remainder of 2012.
