16 PARTNER PROGRAMS DIS is proud to work with several outside programs. Project Adventure has an international reputation for team-building. Athletes are used to hours of practice developing sport skills, but team chemistry requires a special sort of coaching and is often responsible for ultimate success. Regardless of sport, Project Adventure will customize an adventure team-building program to inspire a team to reach its potential. Essentially, teams establish communication norms, while building unity. All players asked to demonstrate leadership, with an emphasis on breaking down any cliques that can be roadblocks. Together, team members set and achieve a common goal. Danvers Indoor Sports also hosts Girls on the Run, a non-profit organization committed to teaching life skills that inspire and motivate, encourage health and fitness, and build confidence with an engaging, age-appropriate, fun curriculum. Offered for girls in 3rd through 5th grade, the GOTR program is 10 weeks, culminating in a celebratory 5K run. Another GOTR program for 6th-8th graders, "Heart and Sole," focuses on social, psychological and physical competencies to navigate life experiences with care and compassion. The girls create positive connections with peers and adults and make meaningful contributions to the community.
