We recommend that you do a visual inspection of the dehumidifier every 30 days, and have a qualified technician do a thorough operational inspection once a year. Below is a general list of items to check during your inspection, but it is important to refer to the operation and maintenance manual for the make and model of dehumidifier for specific inspection and preventative maintenance procedures. VISUAL INSPECTION ITEMS Air filters • Intake air • Reactivation air (desiccant) Air Seals • Unit access doors • Duct connections • Reactivation wheel (desiccant) Blower Motor & Belts • Wear • Tension • Alignment • Motor operation Dampers • Move freely • Refrigeration coil (mechanical) • Dirt & dust • Damage • Deterioration Compressor (mechanical) • Oil level—Sight glass • Refrigerant charge —Sight glass Condensate Line (mechanical) • Obstructions Reactivation Wheel (desiccant) • Dirt & dust • Damage • Deterioration Reactivation Wheel Motor & Belt/ Chain (desiccant) • Wear • Tension • Alignment • Motor operation Air filters and belts can be easily addressed by your rink maintenance staff. Excessive dust on the refrigeration coil (mechanical) or reactivation wheel (desiccant) can also be cleaned using compressed air and a vacuum, but great care must be taken not to damage them during this process. If you don't feel comfortable doing the maintenance yourself, or having it done by one of your staff, we recommend that you contact the unit manufacturer to get a list of qualified technicians in your area and schedule an appointment.
