2017 / ISSUE 101 23 FESTIVALS The end of August and beginning of September usually starts to bring forth feelings of doom and gloom as autumn slowly starts to creep its cold head around the corner. So, what better way to beat the end of summer blues than to end the season by going to this year's Dimensions festival for five fucking days! What's more is that this festival is not set in some half-heard- of British town where it will definitely rain and you will wake up soaking, unsure if you have pissed yourself in the night, or if it is just rain seeping through the tent, either way, it sucks. Dimensions is instead based in Pula in beautiful Croatia where there will be guaranteed sunshine to make this event even more freakin' amazing. Headlining the festival on the 30th of August to the 3rd of September will be the super- group from Berlin, Moderate, along with award winning Moses Boyd: Solo X, the cosmic Yussef Kamaal and the enigmatic, the magnificent, the one and only Grace Jones! Playing across the weekend will be Horse Meat Disco, Resom, Amp Fiddler, Luke Hess, Mungo's Hi-Fi, Onemind and that is seriously just naming a few of the amazing artists that are part of the line-up for this year. From local to internationally renowned artists like Jeff Mills, Floating Points, Nina Kraviz, Ben UFO and Joy Orbison gracing the stage. Adding to this spectacular line up, will also be in house DJ team, Dimensions Soundsystem so the party will never stop and you will never want it to. This year's festival even has its very own boat party! Lost Village is a young festival that keeps proving itself as a force for fun and all things musical. An isolated wood near a tiny village called Norton Disney, in Lincolnshire, is the site of this rambunctious yet endlessly gorgeous offering to the UK festival scene. Last year was a pastoral blur of a weekend spent running through fields in the sun to the sound of tingling electronic music. The concept is right. The weather is right. This August, on bank holiday, from 24th-27th, Lost Village competes with Reading and Leeds, Southwest Four and Notting Hill Carnival without fear. Especially with a line up like this, from Moderat, Hannah Faith, Jackmaster, Ben UFO, Joe Goddard, Avalon Emerson, Leon Vynehall, Ben Pearce & plenty more good 'uns. DIMENSIONS 2017 IS THE ULTIMATE WAY TO END THE SUMMER WE CAN'T WAIT TO GET LOST IN THE VILLAGE
