The 790-room property is scheduled to reopen part of its premises and facilities – 150 rooms and public areas on level one from August 2012, and it will be fully operational in September. Its staff strength of some 500 will not be affected during the closure. The theme it has adopted is that of the Pan Pacifi c brand concept of providing "Refreshing Pacifi c Experiences", which will refl ect the blend of cultures and experiences which its hotels offer. The new design of the hotel would incorporate the "Pacific Touch" – offering a sense of space and calm, with guests feeling "refreshed and revitalised" after a stay. It will be using the services of multi-award- winning Australian firm CHADA for the interior design of the lobby, the guest rooms and a new Pacifi c Club on level 3. Blueplate, a Wilson Associates specialty Restaurant and Bar design studio, will handle the interior design for all restaurants. For the overall architectural design and hotel façade, Ong & Ong Architects has been appointed. When completed, the new Pan Pacifi c Singapore will have a total new look in all guest rooms, restaurants and lobby. The highlight will be its Pacifi c Club on Level 38, the top level, which will offer stunning 360 degrees view of the surrounding. The hotel will incorporate features and innovate concepts which are inspired and influenced by its guests and staff, as well as a review of the Pan Pacifi c brand conducted through research. It expects to continue to consistently deliver high quality, premium accommodation coupled with excellent service, as in keeping with its award- winning brand. The Pan Pacifi c Hotel, sited in the Marina area, is surrounded by hotels like Conrad, Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Marina, Mandarin Oriental and the newer Marina Bay Sands – which all covet the high end MICE market. Being perfectly located with direct access to Suntec City and its convention facilities give Pan Pacifi c an edge in location, but in order to keep up with developments of the surrounding hotels, Pan Pacifi c has to go all out to offer a better product. S cott Swank, general manager of Pan Pacific Singapore said: "The transformation will enhance our competitive advantage in the Marina Bay vicinity. Pan Pacific Singapore will emerge newly-refreshed and it will spur the momentum of our growth." "The involvement of our guests and associates from start to completion bears testament to our commitment to conceptualise and design enriching experiences relevant to them and their needs. With this transformation, the hotel will embody the qualities and a renewed commitment to quality that guests at Pan Pacifi c Singapore appreciate. "
