A shift towards ancillary revenue
For this edition of TravelWeekly Asia, we take a closer look at the ancillary revenue streams of airlines. In recent years of economic crisis,
airlines have found new ways to boost profits. Examples of the strategies adopted by airlines include charging ancillary fees for choice seats, baggage
check-in, premium meals and other services. AirAsia, Jetstar Airways and Ti-
ger Airways are airlines with the Asia Pacific, which are leading the charge towards a greater reliance on ancillary income. More details are in the feature article on pages 4 and 5.
