Editor's Note Natalie Chen | Editor, TravelWeekly Asia natalie.chen@tenalpsasia.com Travel to eat It's amazing what lengths people will go to for good food. As we know trav- ellers make it up to Bangkok for food trails. They wax lyrical over the sights and smells of the exotic food there in its vast array. As for me I've been a bit cautious over food, though the scents are tempting I have yet to venture and dine at a roadside stall. There was one particular incident on a fam trip when after dining at a local restaurant, almost everybody in the group deve- loped the runs and was making fre- quent trips to the washroom. I guess that trip was not particularly enjoy- able for them. With the food scare in Europe, one can't help but err on the side of caution. However, my memories of my fi rst European trip revolved around the simplest food. There was no escargot for me, instead it was baguette with ham and how delicious it taste. Okay, I also indulged in the pastries and im- mediately gained two kilograms but my fi rst trip to Paris was divine. When I was in London, I stocked up on chocolates that we could not get here even cereal. I am not a food connoisseur but like anybody else I do appreciate good food. I have to admit that when I go on trips abroad, it's usually room service for me, I lack the pull to eat something else. Yes, what a pity, I could be more adventurous.
