An iconic character
Last weekend, I entertained a very charming fellow whom many will be familiar with. But it could have been the other way round, he amused me with his quiet aplomb and stately air. There is something mystical about him, yet so many people have met his acquaintance. This is one personality not to be trif led with he has seen the island of Singapore develop and prosper and guards its well-being with his mythical presence. He does not belong to any political party and neither is he in government yet he is the very institution of Singapore itself. You can read more about him in the pages that follow. This issue we look at celestial
rooms in Asia Pacific. These are the rooms to die for, almost everyone loves to pamper themselves and now
you will know where. This will be the last installment of our series on hotel developments, next week we will look at night spots. On that note, I would like to say that hotels figure predominantly in any holiday, it can make or break your stay. That is why we have written about designer hotels and properties to look out for in 2011. Asia is brimming with splendid hotels and resorts we couldn't possibly cover them all. Today's travellers are so lucky
they are spoilt for choice and there are great resorts tucked away in idyllic surroundings. Though cookie cutter hotels are here to stay, there are many that break out from the norm, you have to seek them out like treasure or have us tell you all about it. So enjoy this issue and book a room!
